I was amazed to find myself over 70 and still alive and very much kicking, and I intend to make the most of the opportunities that life presents. I'm full of good humour, well-mannered, reasonably house-trained, cultured, patient and most anxious to please.
In a former life I was a primary school teacher, which was great fun until some fool invented 'Education' and the politicians got their grubby hands on the schools.
Now I do voluntary work for a national charity helping service people, veterans and their dependents. It's great fun, and provides a great deal of job-satisfaction. I meet some wonderful people who have remarkable stories to tell, some of which I actually believe!
I have three children; a son here teaching, a daughter who is a journalist in Berlin and a son who has gas and oil businesses in Calgary, Alberta.
I love classical music, jazz, swing, poetry, conversation, dining and all things natural. I can enjoy a riverside or a wood in any season. 

Intelligent conversation with cultured people who enjoy good humour is my idea of a well-spent evening, especially accompanied by a good meal, fine wine and perhaps a little quiet background music, if absolutely necessary. To be able to enjoy this with a kind, loving lady would be more than double the pleasure. She wouldn't have to be Miss World; in fact I'd rather she weren't, but if she's reasonably attractive, well-groomed, witty and intelligent that will do very well.Above all, I hope that she'd have that wonderfully mysterious and feminine quality called 'allure'. It can't be defined, and it has nothing to do with beauty, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
