Comment by nicola on January 8, 2012 at 14:23 Fareham, will have to find out where that is. lol
Comment by Kevin Jones on January 8, 2012 at 14:33 Just outside Portsmouth. I guess geography was never your strong point at school then. lmao
Comment by nicola on January 8, 2012 at 14:44 well i know where Portsmouth is, but god knows where i'd end up if i went anywhere, i have been on a Moto guzzi which was really nice what bike have you got Kev? have you been to any biker meets, i've been to Donninton and to the bull dog bash, got nice and dirty without any wash rooms and all that stuff. We hired out a van one yr, we all piled in the back. when we came back we stopped off at a moterway station, all us girls wanted to do was wash our hands, we were so dirty. I will allways remmenber the look on peoples faces when we walked in in our leathers, it was like they thought we were scum and were gonna create trouble, but i'm such a mouse you wouldnt believe, it was a very funny moment i will not forget.
Comment by Kevin Jones on January 8, 2012 at 16:00 Well, I always say Portsmouth as that's where most people know. Actually it's between Fareham & Portsmouth. Been to a few biker meets but not for a little while. I'm the born again biker. had bikes all through my youth and in to my late 20,s then the family started and bikes took second place. Then in 2000 I got a nice little windfall and bought a bike. Currently I have a Honda VTX 1800. Bit of a beast but a dream to ride.
I know what you mean about going places in leathers etc, people look down their noses at you, point is, most of the bikes cost just as much as cars, are kept in better condition and the people that ride them are among the nicest in the country.
Comment by nicola on January 8, 2012 at 21:10 Hi Tallie, thanks for joining, any comments welcome, i dont follow sports myself just enjoy the ride.
Kev, it's so true that these bikes can cost asmuch as cars and I think untill I got involved with biker's i'm afraid I had the same impression. getiing old give you a little wisdom and i try not to judge people on looks. Also taking my bike test gave me a better sense of the road, for the moter biker and as a car driver.
Comment by Kevin Jones on January 8, 2012 at 21:41 Welcome Tallie, enjoy the club with all three members. You should move down here to Hampshire. Big biking community. Last year I was able to ride in the Ride of Respect through Wootton Bassett and there were over 25,000 bikes there on the day, all shapes and sizes, including the riders, lol.
Your right Nic, when you ride and drive it puts a whole new perspective on the way that treat the roads.
