What was your first car... what did you do to it...and why did you love it?

Oh yes, mine was a little blue mg metro, and I covered my dash with little green ornamental frogs (because my nickname was Froggy in those days).  It took me on many an adventure!

Mine was a very old original mini..  put a new engine in it and spayed it and put a fibre glass bonnet on as rust had got the original one, and also new rear subframe for the same reasons. It was 1960 and so old it had no letter after the number never mind in front!!  1960, Reg was HOB 203....

So you spayed your car in those days...... nowadays we do that to our pets PP :))))  That's why mini's are extinct!

Yes lovely red colour... We normally use purple on the farm for the sheep..  But never done pets!!!  LOLOLOLOL

My very first car was a Hilman Minx. It was a year older than me. I loved that it was built like a tank. I learnt to do body repairs on it. It was a dream that you could tap into the body work and not need to use a nut to back it up as the body was solid metal.

My most memorable car was a Morris Minor I bought while I lived in Cyprus. It was black and white when I bought it. I hand painted it with a red body, black wings, a black line down the middle of the car from back to front and black spots. I sold it for more than I paid for it.

Ahhh Spooky, my car was also a year older than me :)  Did the minx have a collum shift? In have a reccolection of driving one once, bench seat etc?

Don't talk to me about collum shifts.... I have enough trouble with my diff lock on my old 90!

a good boot!  lol  the one in my disco was a pain as well

And the steering is second to none.... soooo stiff and forceful!  Lil ol me behind a stiff old 90.... just need to get some sheep in the back and then I shall be complete!

good, reliable and excellent for those arm and chest muscles LOL  I had a Mk2 for a while years ago,....   The Disco below, now gone to Rover Heaven!!!!

A light blue rust bucket of a Morris 1000......... YRY 20 (everyone who saw me learning in it used to go Y O Y) wish I'd kept the plates..

Strange to say. I can't remember if the minx was column shift or not.

i wote off my sisters pride and joy :)

i bought a vauxhall chevette off my sister and had 2 major accidents in it :) ost me £300 ages ago and i got £700 from the insurance beccause of course it wasnt my fault :)
